this is my major work, a short film based on a room of one's own by virginia woolf amongst other things. the woman is my abuela, zaida, who was a feminist and political revolutionary in the nicaraguan revolution.

Produced at the Gulf Islands Film and Television School during the Adult Media Intensive Program (August 1st - 7th, 2010) by Carol Aileen, Sheridan Gunter and Mark Pickersgill. This short documentary takes a contemporary look at feminism, a term often considered offensive or at the very least outmoded. The film engages young people in exploring some of the ways feminism has influenced their lives and discussing some of its tensions and contradictions.
